Kang Do Won Martial Arts school fascist pigs

There's a school in Wickliffe, called the Kang Do Won. They claim to teach martial arts, which they do quite effectively. But another thing they teach (and maybe not on purpose, but still do so) is fascism. The head instructor of this school, 8th Degree Black belt, Grandmaster Richard J. Lewis capitalises on martial arts, though he claims not to. I used to be a member of this school, which costs in the upwards of $1,500 a YEAR. He doesn't allow monthly contracts. You can only enroll annually, which not only costs a LOT of money, but if you decide not to go anymore somewhere in the middle of your contract, or cannot go due to your work scheduling, much like myself, you get screwed out of $1,500. THEN, to put salt in your wounds, Grandmaster Lewis will call you into his office and tell you that quitting his school is the worst mistake you'll ever make in your entire life, he told me,personally, that I'd end up committing suicide if I quit his school. So I did. He plays on feelings, and he is a fear mongering capitalist bastard. His atrocities can't be allowed to continue. this is an example... The path to genuine, permanent personal strength and effective self-defense skill is that way which is guided by the true spirit of traditional martial arts.
However, not all schools are created equal... beware of the schools that pursue the superficial, easy path which results in a false sense of self, with confidence and skills that crumble when faced with fear and adversity.
While some schools simply sell black belts, only a few have the knowledge and educational skills required to actually create them. There is no easy, fast-track to positive personal growth, healthy character development, behavioral modification and the skills required to defend oneself.
So, the question is... what do you want for yourself and your children?...
cute uniforms, laughter and empty instruction (illusion) OR
an education that produces a healthy personality, strong character and
functional skills (SOLUTION).
THE WRONG WAY IS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS THAN NO WAY!

Choosing a school can be one of the greatest... or most detrimental decisions you ever make for yourself and/or your children. Before you decide on a school, you owe it to yourself and your children to study this website.
The Kang Do Won was established in 1984 and since that time has helped thousands of men, women and children improve the quality of their lives.

Well, I can't say I've ever seen a martial arts site with a section dedicated to the meaning of the american flag...

Unfortunately though, I seem to notice some fascistic qualities in a lot of martial arts, schools, teachers, students, in some cases the martial arts themselves, as they are taught. There are some fascistic qualities inherent in a hierarchical belt rank structure, in strict adherence to tradition for no logical reason, in semi-masochistic or abusive teacher-student relationships, the preoccupation of the military with the martial arts and vice-versa, the fact that martial arts are basically the study of people-hurting...

Not to say that all martial arts, artists and teachers are that way, just that it is not uncommon.

However, the bit about him literally trying coercive cultish mind-control tactics (although dumb ones), there are things that can be done about it. Are you familiar with the website www.bullshido.net ? They are a website dedicated to finding and exposing fraudulent martial arts, martial artists, and martial arts schools and practices, cultish schools, etc. If he has tried to manipulate you the way you say, such as telling you you'd commit suicide if you left, this is the kind of the thing that is right up their alley.

I notice the google ads at the top of the page link to martial arts sites. it would be interesting to know if they have similar attitudes wherever google send you to. I'm not interested in visiting any of the sites, however
