Mischarecterization of Chomsky's comments.
by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 (01:35:40)
Chomsky's comments do not imply that Ron Paul as a man is not reasonable or credible; rather they imply that Noam believes Paul's ideas to be unreasonable and their enacting undesirable. Many individuals' confusion I believe has its origins in their lack of differentiation between libertarianism (specifically libertarian socialism, or Anarchism, the ideas of which Chomsky is sympathetic towards) and the (hyper-capitalist) Libertarian Party of Ron Paul; when people say "libertarian" outside the U.S.A., it doesn't mean what it seems to mean to many Americans.
