There is a hugely diverse range of jobs that can be applied for in the care industry.  There are plenty of opportunities to tailor your skill set towards one of them.  Caring for an individual, or for a group of people requires a high degree of empathy and patience and also the ability to communicate effectively. The primary role in the care industry is that of a caregiver or personal support worker.  in this role you would be expected to give immediate care to the person that you are responsible for.  This can be to help maintain their independent living in their own homes or in a facility that offers care.  This is generally considered to be a step before becoming a registered nurse, which is the most recognised of caregivers.

Care industry employees do not necessarily have to be involved in direct and physical work.  The work of social workers is also considered to be part of the care industry and is certainly a position that has a lot of focus and attention placed on it by Society.

Away from these roles you will find there are therapeutic positions that can be taken up.  Those that deal with speech language and occupational therapists are just two of the examples of soft skill therapists work that can be had.  At the pinnacle of the care industry is the position of the care home manager.
