Cutting the Cost of Christmas
Something that we all want to do this Christmas is save a bit of money. With the cost-of-living crisis meaning that lots of essential items are becoming more expensive, not to mention the price increases of gas and electricity, many more people are looking for ways that they can reduce what they are spending and of course Christmas is one of those things that can cost a lot of money.
However, here are some of the things that you can do to cut down on what you are spending at Christmas…
Food – So much food gets wasted over the festive season and most of us are guilty of buying far more than we need, especially when the shops are only closed for a day. Write out a list beforehand of the things that you are going to make and go shopping without deviating from it – you might well be pleasantly surprised!
Buy Second Hand – As well as being good for the purse strings, buying second hand items is also much better for the planet, so it is a win win really! Whatever it is, whether you are after clothing or electricals like these refurbished laptops, there are lots of items that you can buy second hand for Christmas gifts which will save you a lot of money.
Create Free Experiences – A lot of the expense of Christmas isn’t even on the day itself – during the run up, all those parties and activities with the family can really take their toll on the finances, so why not think of things to enjoy that don’t cost anything? A walk through the woods or spending time with friends and family are not only free but you might even find them more enjoyable!
