The different elements of a Pneumatic Conveyor

Pneumatic conveying systems are pieces of equipment that are used in manufacturing industries as a way to move items from one area of a manufacturing plant to another. These items are often chemicals, powders, granules and other dry bulk materials. There is often a need for these items to be kept clean and free from contaminants. By moving them in a system like those offered by it is possible to not only move items over large distances, but they can be moved quickly, efficiently and safely. In the cases of some powders and dry materials it is important that the environment outside the conveying system is not contaminated with the products. This is to ensure the health and safety of the employees working in the manufacturing or industrial plant.

The main parts of a pneumatic conveyor are:

Inlet hopper – this is where the materials are placed into the system

Conveying line – this is the pipe or tube where the materials are transported through

Air mover – this is the part of the system that creates the air flow

Filter – this is an essential part to help remove any dust and debris that helps to reduce contamination and prevent damage to the machinery

Discharge point – this is where the materials being transported are removed from the system

Control panel – this is the electrical component of the conveyings system and includes the motor and a number of control devices.
