Trailers and road safety matters

Just like every other vehicle on the road, trailers are also required to pass MOT checks.  It is not acceptable to simply hook up your trailer and set off on a journey especially if it’s going to be laden with a lot of  rubbish.  It may well be just a quick trip to the tip but if the trailer is not safe this can lead to an enormous amount of problems.  This is also true if you’re going on a longer journey and are looking to take a wide selection of items with you, possibly for a holiday or maybe as a house move.

To ensure that your trailer is safe you will need to have plenty of spare Trailer Parts such as those from autoandtrailer.com/shop/trailer-parts. With these in place you can maintain the safety of the trailer and make sure that it is road fit.  The last thing that you want as you’re speeding down the motorway is to find that there is an issue with the tires or one of the trailer’s gate locks as this can cause a huge issue.

The main thing to remember when towing a trailer is that you are limited with when and where you can overtake.  For example, on a motorway you are not permitted to enter Lane three under any circumstances and it is generally accepted that moving into Lane two must be done safely and with allowances to be made for the extra length of the vehicle.
